"SUPER MACHINE" FOR URBAN WASTEWATER TREATMENT

On April 19, 2017, the Minsk automobile plant hosted a large-scale presentation of municipal equipment of Belarusian machine-building enterprises for representatives of the administration, heads of executive committees and utilities from all regions of the Republic of Belarus.

The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko, Deputy Minister of industry of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Ogorodnikov, First Deputy Minister of Housing and communal services of the Republic of Belarus Oleg Poskrobko, Consul General of Denmark Mr. Jens Thomsen, director general of Minsk automobile plant Dmitry Katerinich.

The participants of the presentation and media representatives were able to get acquainted with the latest models of domestic automotive equipment, which are capable of solving a wide range of tasks in the housing and communal services sector. Not only the Minsk automobile plant, but also other well – known machine-building enterprises of Belarus-MTZ and AMKODOR presented their equipment. 

Minsk automobile plant together with the Danish company Hvidtved Larsen has developed and assembled a unique channel washing machine for wastewater treatment, which will increase the efficiency of urban collectors and prevent flooding after heavy rains. The new Belarusian special equipment claims to be one of the most advanced in the world, representatives of Maz said during the presentation in Minsk.

The Belarusian-Danish Maz-4926W2 will be the first in its class. It is capable of washing and cleaning storm and household sewage wells with a diameter of up to a meter. Only one such machine is able to save city pipes from precipitation and blockages that interfere with the operation of the Collector. All this, in particular, will avoid flooding during heavy rains, which is important for almost all cities.

The novelty took the best from two manufacturers: the Belarusian chassis, on which the Danish attachments were" planted " – a tank for 4 cubic meters of water or precipitation. The car is powered by an engine from Cummins environmental class Euro-4. For cleaning, a vacuum pump is used, which directs a stream of water into the sewer under monstrous pressure – up to 160 atmospheres. For comparison, in tires it is only 2 atmospheres, and in a fire hydrant – up to 10. the machine pumps 127 liters of water per minute into the well, that is, the maximum supply can be poured in half an hour.

The Belarusian-Danish "cleaner" can replace two cars at once. All thanks to a movable partition in the tank, which divides the space into two compartments. As the water flows, the hydraulic piston shifts to the back cover to make room for sediment from the sewer. If earlier it was necessary to use two pieces of equipment for this (one washes with water, the other collects waste), now one machine will cope.
In addition, the novelty turned out to be compact and maneuverable: small dimensions allow it to confidently act in dense urban areas and easily avoid external obstacles, such as traffic jams during a downpour. Engineers also worked on efficiency: the car consumes a third less fuel in comparison with similar special equipment.

Another difference is high reliability. The service life of the MAZ-4926W2 exceeds 20 years, regardless of operating conditions. The machine can work both in Frost and in heat: vacuum cranes do not freeze due to thermal insulation and electric heating, and the cooling system does not overheat. Many processes in the machine are automated. Thus, the CAN-Bus system regulates the operation of the engine in conjunction with the pumps, depending on the current situation.
The Minsk automobile plant will annually produce about 10 channel washing machines. In addition to Belarus, special equipment is planned to be supplied to Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and other CIS countries. In addition, it may appear in European cities.

«Together with the Danish company Hvidtved Larsen, we managed to create a modern machine that incorporates many advanced technologies. There is no more modern solution in the world now. We expect that special equipment will be used both in Belarus and abroad. Moreover, in terms of the combination of price and quality, there are no analogues to it",- emphasized in JSC "Maz".

In the future, Maz also intends to develop another model of Channel washing machine. The MAZ-6516V8 model will receive a more powerful motor and pump capable of pumping up to 400 liters of water per minute. The machine will be able to effectively clean large trunk networks with a diameter of about 2 meters.
It is also planned to increase the level of localization of production of Belarusian-Danish machines. It is assumed that most of the components will be produced in the Republic.

In total, at the presentation organized for representatives of Housing and communal Services, JSC Maz presented more than 10 new units of vehicles for municipal organizations, including garbage trucks, dump trucks, a sweeper, etc. All of them may appear on the roads of Belarusian cities in the near future.
Belarusian engineers create many models together with foreign developers. JSC Maz cooperates with leading companies: Larsen (Denmark), Zoomlion (China), Geesinknorba (Netherlands), Faun (Germany), Everdigm (South Korea), Arctic machine and Ficote (Finland).
